Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen quit the group, and they held auditions to choose a new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through old demos and tapes to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans and the band went on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
